You've Reached The "About" PageAs you've probably already noticed, this is not your typical real estate agent's website. That's because I'd like to think I'm not your typical real estate agent. I believe in providing exemplary service to both customers and clients alike. The real estate business is really about you and your urban lifestyle. It's not about me, me, me! In fact, the real estate business isn't at all about any real estate agent.
On this website, I openly provide all the MLS® System real estate listings in as close to real-time as possible. I make things transparent – from detailed listing information, to my commitment to earn a fair compensation – all for you. My website is filled detailed information about the buying or selling processes, and details your many options.
Selling homes in Calgary is only a small portion of what I really do. I work with buyers, too. I'm here to help both buyers and sellers through the entire process, to be my clients' advocate and to make it all seem easy.

I'm All About – Providing Advise You Can TrustLicensed as an Associate Broker in the Province of Alberta, I work through the boutique, independent brokerage, Real Estate Professionals Inc. in Calgary. Roughly 5% of real estate agents have earned and hold this license category. As a member of the Calgary Real Estate Board Co-operative, I am also a REALTOR® and have full access to the Calgary MLS® Systems. Like most real estate agents today, I operate a full-service, virtual real estate office so that I can keep escalating costs in check. Along with not having the needless, high desk fees of a multi-national, or national, real estate franchise chain, I can pass these savings directly back to my clients. While my license allows me to practise real estate in all parts of Alberta and in all facets of real estate – from business brokerage, commercial sales and leasing, mobile home sales, property management and residential real estate – I focus my attention on the Calgary residential market. I try to bring a refreshing approach to the profession, emphasizing respectful ongoing communication, creativity and positive thinking.
I'm a native of a fast-paced area of southern Ontario and took a corporate relocation & promotion to Calgary, Alberta in the mid-1990s. No doubt you're aware that this, like most people today in real estate, is a second career for me. I refocused my energies directly to real estate brokerage in mid-2006. I draw upon my background as a corporate leader in the hospitality industry. I bring expertise in marketing, brand management, finance, coaching, negotiating, and enhancing internal and external customer experiences, along with a keen eye as a non-professional photographer when assisting customers and clients with their real estate needs.
I have a passion for real estate as well as a genuine desire to help others. I see these both as keystones of my real estate business.
I'm a graduate of several universities and colleges. I have earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto and post-graduate certificates in business from both the University of Guelph and the University of Calgary.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and whipping up delicious concoctions in my kitchen or spending time outdoors. I'm happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
To unwind, photography is a hobby of mine. I also enjoy hitting the open road on my bicycle in the warmer months. This year, I hope to lace up my trainers and run laps in the neighbourhood in a re-found passion. I live in the northwest Calgary neighbourhood of Hawkwood with my wife, Joanna and one of our grown daughters, Kate.

Real Estate ProfessionalismIn an industry where turnover is huge, over 20% of today's real estate agents won't be in the business a year from now and 70% won't likely be in the business five years from now, I stand above the rest. I believe in "raising the bar" in real estate and am a steadfast advocate for a university-level, degree-program in real estate prior to real estate licensing (similar to nursing, engineers or accountants). I hope we can see this phased in over the next 10 years so many of the existing industry members can adapt to the requirement. I'm also an advocate for significantly enhancing mandatory professional upgrading for Alberta real estate agents from the current requirement of 1-day every two years.

I specialize in residential real estate within the City of Calgary – with a focus on the northwest quadrant – and get close to a hundred hours of real estate training each and every year to upgrade and enhance our expertise. This is how you know you're always working with the best.
TechnologyAs a self-proclaimed tech-savvy agent, I'm always at the cutting-edge of technology to make the right experience for you. The Internet has revolutionized the real estate industry. Smartphones and other mobile technology have now become mandatory for leading edge industry members. While making some of the historic functions of real estate offices and the real estate agent redundant, the Internet has made the agent's job far more complex in order to help their clients efficiently wade through - and interpret - the mammoth amount of data available today. Modern mobile technology has allowed real estate agents to work virtually and no longer are they tied to a bricks-and-mortar real estate offices.
